Garriston is a port in Tyrea. It was once a thriving city, and the capital of the Satrapy, but was greatly reduced in size and power during the False Prism's War. During the events of The Black Prism Gavin Guile and his allies build Brightwater Wall to defend it.
Before the war, Garriston had a population of 100,000, which fell to 80,000 after the fighting men were drafted to fight in the war. After the burning of Garriston in retaliation for the massacre at Ru that had been orchestrated by General Gad Delmarta, who had been born in Garriston, that number was reduced to 10,000, which became 5,000 after the first winter following the war.
